To help you navigate your way through the language of yoga, and find the right yoga class, here are the definitions to some of the most commonly used yoga terms.

Yoga touches us on a physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual level. Many of us our out of touch with at least one of these. This disconnection can be more intensified for trauma survivors as well as on more than one level.
After a trauma many survivors lose connection with their body and can no longer calm themselves. An internal struggle causing stress, anxiety, and trauma triggers are created from this lack of connection, or disassociation.
Yoga opens a path for healing which trauma blocked; by activating the area of the brain involving self-awareness.
